Talking Book Library - Ordering Books
Online Catalog: You can order talking books and Braille using the Internet. The page is located at http://webopac.klas.com/flbtbl.
Anyone can visit the Web Site to search the catalog of available materials. Registered Florida customers can also place orders for books at the Web site. To order via the Web, you must first contact us by telephone at (727) 441-9958 or (within 941 area code) toll-free at (866) 619-9568 or via email at mbrown@pplc.us.
The purpose of the contact is to:
- Verify your nine-digit identification number for your account; and
- Obtain a password.
You can also search the online catalog of the National Library
Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NLS), Library
of Congress. Note that titles cannot be ordered through this service.
Catalogs and
Bibliographies: Catalogs are mailed
bimonthly to inform customers about new books and magazines added
to the collection. These catalogs are used to select and order
reading materials. Recorded book customers usually receive
Talking Book Topics, while Braille readers most often subscribe
to Braille Book Review. A complete book catalog is also available.
Bibliographies listing books available in recorded or Braille
formats covering specific topics, such as Humor or Fishing, are
produced to assist customers in selecting books of interest.
