There is a transition period to our new and improved website This catalog is up and running now for those who would like to familiarize themselves with it. The old catalog will be phased out at the end of April 2015.

Braille and Audio Reading Downloads (BARD)

Through this service, our patrons can download nearly all of our materials. Audio books and magazines can be downloaded and loaded onto a flash drive and then played on the NLS provided digital talking book player. Braille materials can be downloaded for use with a refreshable Braille display. BARD is now available for iOS devices. Patrons can download the BARD Mobile app from the Apple App Store for free and listen to audio materials on their iOS device (i.e. iPad or iPhone). Click here to access the BARD website.

The Library of Congress has a series of video tutorials available on how to use BARD:

BARD for Android is here! Now available in the Google Play store for your Android phones and tablets. Click here to find a user guide in plain text.

Note: Our online catalog is changing!

Catalogs and Bibliographies

Catalogs are mailed out bimonthly to inform patrons about new books and magazines added to the collection. These catalogs can be used to select and order reading materials. Recorded book customers usually receive Talking Book Topics, while Braille readers most often subscribe to Braille Book Review.
