Talking Book Library - Ordering Books

Online Catalog: You can order talking books and Braille using the Internet. The page is located at http://webopac.klas.com/flbtbl.

Anyone can visit the Web Site to search the catalog of available materials. Registered Florida customers can also place orders for books at the Web site. To order via the Web, you must first contact us by telephone at (727) 441-9958 or (within 941 area code) toll-free at (866) 619-9568 or via email at mbrown@pplc.us.

The purpose of the contact is to:

  • Verify your nine-digit identification number for your account; and
  • Obtain a password.

You can also search the online catalog of the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NLS), Library of Congress. Note that titles cannot be ordered through this service.

Catalogs and Bibliographies: Catalogs are mailed bimonthly to inform customers about new books and magazines added to the collection. These catalogs are used to select and order reading materials. Recorded book customers usually receive Talking Book Topics, while Braille readers most often subscribe to Braille Book Review. A complete book catalog is also available.

Bibliographies listing books available in recorded or Braille formats covering specific topics, such as Humor or Fishing, are produced to assist customers in selecting books of interest.
