The selection this year is “A Land Remembered” by Patrick Smith, a novel that explores the history of Florida from a generational perspective. Telephone Pioneer Receives Certificate of Appreciation
On Sept 20 th, Talking Book Librarian Marilyn Stevenson presented volunteer John Repholz a certificate of appreciation from the Library of Congress/National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped in recognition of his many years of dedicated service to the Pinellas Talking Book Library. The certificate was signed by Frank Kurt Cylke, NLS Director.
Mr. Repholz is a retired Telephone Pioneer who repairs the cassette players our patrons use to read their books. He has been doing this for over ten years and we greatly appreciate his efforts. Mrs. Repholz joined TBL Staff for the presentation of the certificate. Hats Off to our Telephone Pioneer Volunteer, John Repholz!!

MUSIC FOR THE HOLIDAY SEASON! With the holidays around the corner, now is the perfect time to contact Recordings for Recovery, a lending service that provides music on cassette through the mail. Individual memberships are $10 per year, but alternative memberships are available for those who cannot afford this fee. Call 1-800-798-1192 to find out more.
WALK-INS WELCOME! Just a friendly reminder that although we are happy, as always, to serve you over the phone and through the mail, please remember we are also a library you can visit. Located near downtown Clearwater, you can come check out our browsing shelves of talking books and large print books, speak with your reader advisor, and pick up or exchange your talking book machine. We also have accessible computers and several magnifying devices on site. So, next time you’re in the neighborhood, please stop by and say hello. If you plan a trip, call a day ahead and we can have books waiting for you when you get here.
