"Pinellas Pastimes: A Journey through Our County's History"

Humanities Scholar, Florida Humanities Council Speaker's Bureau

Jim Schnur will give an entertaining and informative presentation on the dynamics of Pinellas County’s history.  During the presentation, he will show a great 1929 film of St. Petersburg.  Jim will give examples of how our librarians are pro-active in preserving the past.

The Talking Book Marker

How often have you lost your place in the book you are reading because the phone rang or you fell asleep? Jim Daily has invented the Talking Book Marker to mark the spot where you stopped listening. It works for homemakers cooking from a recipe, reading-disabled students doing research, and patrons creating book lists from the cassette version of theTalking Book Topics or the NLS annual catalog.
