Databases

Pinellas Public Library Cooperative offers subscription services to member libraries. Patrons will need a library card to access these databases. For more information about these databases, please contact Paula Godfrey.

ChiltonLibrary - allows you to browse through a robust list of vehicles in order to obtain specific information including:
  • Recalls and Technical Service Bulletins
  • Specific Vehicle Maintenance
  • Vehicle Repair information

Florida Electronic Library - Select Internet resources that offers access to comprehensive, accurate, and reliable information. Available resources include electronic magazines, newspapers, almanacs, encyclopedias, and books, providing information on topics such as current events, education, business, technology, and health issues.

Infotrac from Thompson/Gale - Includes the Biography Resource Center (full-text articles from hundreds of periodicals) and the Literature Resource Center (biographies, bibliographies, and critical analyses of authors from every age and literary discipline).

ReferenceUSA - A business and residential database containing detailed information of over 10 million businesses and residential information compiled from 3,900 white page directories, totalling over 100 million households in the United States.

Access to Reference USA is limited to patrons with a valid library card from any Pinellas Public Library.


World Book Online - The premier online reference source containing every article from the 22-volume encyclopedia print set plus thousands more. With state-of-the-art multimedia, editor-reviewed websites, and more! Includes World Book Kids and Spanish Online.

Ancestry: Library Edition - Information for conducting genealogical and local history research. Included are the digitized images of the U.S. Federal Census from 1790 forward, the American Genealogical Biographical Index, Passenger and Immigration Lists Index, and much more. Available only from within member library buildings.
